After defeating Cameroon’s Coton Sport 2-0 in their pre-tournament warm-up match Nigeria’s Super Eagles issued a warning to their opponents at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Super Eagles begin their quest for a fourth AFCON title against Egypt on Tuesday, and they warmed up for the match by hosting Cameroon’s 15-time champions.
The interim manager, Austin Eguaoven, used two different teams in each half, with Maduka Okoye remaining in goal in the first.
Ola Aina and Zaidu Sanusi were the fullbacks, and William Troost-Ekong and Kenneth Omeruo were the central defenders.
Wilfred Ndidi, Joe Aribo, and Kelechi Iheanacho formed a three-man midfield, flanked by Chidera Ejuke and Ahmed Musa.

Union Berlin’s Taiwo Awoniyi led the line as Musa’s goal gave the Super Eagles a half-time lead.
With only Sanusi remaining, the second half began with a nearly entirely different team. Alex Iwobi also kept his spot, but he was replaced by Musa midway through the first half.
After the break, Francis Uzoho was in goal, with Olisa Ndah and Semi Ajayi filling in for Chidozie Awaziem in the center back positions.
Frank Onyeka, Kelechi Nwakali, and Alex Iwobi played in the center, with Moses Simon and Samuel Chukwueze flanking Sadiq Umar upfront.
Chukwueze’s boots also helped the Super Eagles score one goal in the second half.
