Peace Corps of Nigeria is making a deliberate move to validate its personnel across Nigeria.
The moves follows the short fall of personnel due to Covid 19 pandemic and the closure of its headquarters for three years which has impacted negatively on its activities and operations.
Addressing journalists in Abuja, the National Commandant, Dr. Dickson Akoh explained that the Corps had been struggling to carry out its various programmes but assured that with the supports of its members across the nation, the Corps will be revived.
According to Prof. Akoh when President Muhammadu Buhari declined assent to its bill, most members stopped participating in its activities a situation which led to the renewal of identity cards and validation of the data-base of members nationwide.
In Akwa Ibom, the exercise will take place at the State Command’s office of the Corps in Uyo with a call on the officers to ensure they visit the office to know the scheduled of their days and other information.
The Peace Corp National commandant assured that every part of the Corps constitution would be enforced to enable the corps take its rightful place in the country.
