Judicial and legislative autonomy is to be implemented by the All Progressives Congress governors as approved by the Nigerian Governors Committee and other stakeholders.

After a review, the Progressive Governors’ Forum, the umbrella organization of APC governors, reached this conclusion at an emergency meeting in Abuja.

Badugu stated that the NGF Committee, led by Tambuwal, consulted all key stakeholders, including the leadership of the State Judiciary and Assemblies.

He proclaimed that the Committee had established consensus on specific actions that state governments should take to ensure the independence of state judiciaries and legislatures.

As a result, Bagudu stated that the conference “supported agreements reached by the Governor Tambuwal-led NGF Committee and enjoined all APC-controlled governments, indeed all states, to begin the process of implementing the presented recommendations.” “Appropriate conversations with Attorneys-General will take place” as part of the process of implementing the NGF agreements in APC-controlled states.
