The official inauguration of Eket Stadium has been slated for Friday, September 30
Constructed by the Akwa Ibom State governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, the Eket stadium has an access road.
The inauguration of the project is part of the activities marking the 35th anniversary of the State’s creation.
starwitness correspondent who was on a tour to the Eket stadium reports that the contracting firms are putting finishing touches to ensure the unveiling of the project.
The stadium has become a beehive of activities as various stakeholders have been trooping into admiring the structure.
It has a sitting capacity for top government officials, dressing rooms for away and home teams, a VIP lounge, a track for athletes, a tennis court, and an 18,000 sitting capacity
The latest stakeholder to visit was the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN Akwa Ibom State Chapter.

The chairman of the association, Mr. Emmanuel Akpan referred to the stadium as one magnificent building with economic benefits to the people of Eket and beyond.

Mr. Akpan lauded the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Sir Monday Uko, and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Sports, Elder Paul Bassey for their efforts in completing the stadium.
Conducting sports Journalists around the edifice, the Commissioner for Youths and Sports Sir Monday Uko said the 18,000-seater capacity stadium would remain one of the milestones of the present administration in the sports sector.
Sir Uko appreciated the engineers for a job well done and the sports writers association of Nigeria SWAN for continued collaboration.
He stated that one of the major highlights will be a novelty football match between Akwa United FC and Katsina United at the stadium tomorrow by 4 pm.
