The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations winners came from behind to defeat the Eagles, who scored their first goal in the ninth minute of the game. Terem Moffi initially gave the Nigerian team the lead.
Franxck Onyeka’s foul in the box gave the Algerians the chance they needed to equalize Moffi’s goal and Mahrez didn’t take it at all when he took the penalty.

Moffi tried again after 28 minutes when he shot another goal wide of the Algerian post, but the goal was ruled offside.
Youcef Atal sealed the lead for Algeria in the second half of the game as the Eagles struggled to keep up but couldn’t. This is the first meeting between the two sides since meeting in an international friendly in October
In this game, the Desert Warriors beat the Super Eagles 1-0, and the West Africans have never beaten their opponents in the last three games.
