Following the court ruling barring Akan Udofia from participating in the new APC’s fresh primary within 14 days, the candidate will appeal to a court of higher jurisdiction and stay the execution against the ruling.
Reports state that it has never been known in law that the court has the right to decide who joins a political party as long as that person has been duly granted a waiver by the party’s National Working Committee, as this has already been done and resolved in recent court decisions in other related cases in Nigeria.
According to the report, despite the ruling, Akan Udofia will participate in the new primaries which will again be held by the NWC of the APC and controlled by the INEC. The 14 days granted by the court are intended to allow the party to notify the INEC to prepare for primary monitoring.

A close associate of the APC international business tycoon, who opted not to be named, said that even if the primaries are held as often as possible, Akan Udofia will win the primaries. Obong’s Akanimo Udofia aide urged Obong Udofia’s followers to remain calm as the ruling of the Court pending verdict on November 28, 2022, will be in favor of Akan Udofia, noting that the court was approached to request the INEC to publish Obong Udofia’s name as an APC candidate.
After the new primaries are to be held in 14 days from Monday, November 4, 2022, all the cases for the party primaries, who won and who didn’t, will be resolved and the campaign will begin in earnest.
Akanimo Udofia’s aide said at the end of the campaigns and elections that Akan Udofia will win and be sworn in as executive governor in 2023.
