Akwa Ibom State Executive Council Tasked On Completion Agenda

Members of the state executive council have returned from a retreat outside the state with a mandate to redouble effort towards realizing the completion agenda of the present administration.

Governor Udom Emmanuel gave the charge during the state executive council meeting he presided over at the government house, Uyo.

Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Emem-Obong who briefed government house correspondents on the outcome of the meeting, said the Governor specifically tasked Commissioners in project Ministries to ensure effective supervision of projects within their area of responsibility, for timely delivery.

According to the information commissioner, yesterday’s State Executive Council session featured majorly, status reports of projects due for inauguration in the first and second quarters of the year and the need for them to be completed in record time and to accepted specifications.

Meanwhile, As the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP successfully concluded the gubernatorial nominations in Ekiti State, all the aspirants have been urged to join hands and work together in the interest of peace and progress in Ekiti and the nation at large.

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel gave the advice at the Victor Attah International Airport on his arrival from Ekiti state where he led a five-man Committee to oversee the Ekiti PDP gubernatorial primaries.

Governor Emmanuel reminded the aspirants that only one person would occupy the seat as Governor and tasked them to show understanding as Comrades, allow peace to reign and respect the supremacy of the party.

He noted that the process was credible, free, fair, and satisfactory as stated by all concerned and commended the National Working Committee of PDP for the opportunity given them to serve,

As Nigerians get ready for the 2023 general elections, Governor Emmanuel again emphasized the need for those who want to serve to go about it in a peaceful manner rather than with guns, in the overall best interest of the people they want to serve.

Of the 12 aspirants who contested for the gubernatorial ticket in Ekiti state, Bisi Kola-Wale won with 671 votes, emerging the party’s flag bearer, followed by former governor Segun Oni, who polled 330 votes.
