Prophet Samuel Abidoye, Spiritual Father of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church (CSMC) Worldwide, asked the federal government to seek foreign assistance to combat banditry, kidnapping, and other criminal activities across the federation.Abidoye made this call during a press conference held yesterday to mark the start of the 81st International Conference/Convention, which will be held at Galilee Land in Orilegbon, Oyo State.
The cleric explained at the conference that it was not shameful for the federal government to seek foreign assistance or collaboration to stop this heinous killing.
“We, as a Church, are not unconcerned about the ongoing bloodshed in some states across the country, which is very concerning,” he said. Boko Haram, kidnappings, armed robbery, and other insurgents persist across the federation. These have resulted in the deaths of innocent citizens of the country. There is nothing wrong with the federal government seeking foreign assistance or collaboration to stop these heinous killings. Nigerians are now finding it difficult to travel at their leisure.
“We can no longer sleep with our two eyes closed, and there is fear of going to our various offices and other businesses simply because of the fear of terrorists,” Abidoye explained.
“The government, particularly the federal government, has had enough conversations with our traditional rulers, religious leaders, security agencies, and other stakeholders.” This is the time to take decisive action to flush out these terrorists from their various hideouts.
“Those arrested should be prosecuted, and the law should take its course as soon as possible to serve as a deterrent to other criminals.” The Presidency has stated that it has names of those responsible for the widespread insecurity in the country.

“Patriotic Nigerians are waiting for the names of those involved, including their financiers, to be published in order for justice to reign and the nation to move forward.” There should be no sacred cows in this case, and anyone found guilty should not be treated with Kit Gloves,” he added.
The cleric bemoaned the fact that Nigeria was still crawling at 61, with little to show for its independence, and challenged all stakeholders to stand up and face the reality of making it great.
“We have the potential and human resources to transform the country,” he said, adding that “our leaders must act decisively, and if there is any time to act to make Nigeria great, it is now.” I pray for peace in Nigeria and throughout the world.”
Commenting on the general elections, particularly in Anambra, Ekiti, and the Osun States, Abidoye stated that the only way to achieve credible, free, and fair elections is “when there is peace of mind and peace in the land; otherwise, there will be general apathy towards these elections, including the 2023 general elections.”
“Violence in some parts of the country, particularly Anambra, where elections are set to take place soon, has accumulated to serious security challenges, as a spate of killings is worrisome and has reached a dangerous trend.” As a nation and as individuals, we do not condone the shedding of blood; life is sacred.
He urged voters to not only come out and register but also to vote when the time came. We should also be prudent, avoid money politics and thuggery, and vote for credible candidates in future elections.”
