French tennis Grand Slam singles final to crown a new champion Saturday as Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova squares up against Barbora Krejcikova.

A dominant junior player Russian Pavlyuchenkova had never made it   beyond the quarters.  The 31st seed sent off  Tamara Zidansek  of Slovenia 7-5 6-3 in the semi-final on the clay.

She also has the   Belarusian third seed Aryna Sabalenka and Victoria Azarenka  a twov time Grand Slam champion in her run to a first major final.

Pavlyuchenkova  in her 29th year in 2011 reached the at last eight in Paris open  Thwe chance in is now in her hands to touch a major trophy.

Krejcikova   has two Grand Slam doubles titles to her name already and   has the opportunity for the 3rd with Katerina Siniakova when they take on Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Iga Swiatek.on Sunday

In the main singles draw and with her fifth appearance, Krejcikova broke into the top 100 in the past 12 months and has knocked – Ekaterina Alexandrova, Elina Svitolina, Coco Gauff and Maria Sakkari – on the way to the final and honored her mentor Jana Novotna who died of cancer in November 2017
