Having faith in God isn’t always easy. Life throws challenges at us, and there are days when it feels like nothing’s working out. You pray, you wait, and still, it seems quiet. But faith is what keeps us grounded, especially when things don’t make sense.
How to increase faith in God
If you want to grow your faith in God, it starts with spending time with Him. Reading the Bible regularly helps you understand His nature. The more you read, the more you discover how God works, and that builds trust. Romans 10:17 says, “Faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” That means the more of God’s Word you hear and read, the more your it grows.
Talking to God is another important step. Prayer shouldn’t feel like a task. Just talk to Him honestly. Tell Him how you feel—even if you’re scared, tired, or unsure. James 4:8 says, “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” When you pray daily, your connection with Him becomes real, not just routine.
Sometimes you have to pause and look back. Think about all the times God came through for you, even when you didn’t see it immediately. Remembering those moments will help your faith grow. Write them down if you can. That way, when life gets tough, you can look back and remind yourself that God was faithful then and He still is now.
The people around you also play a big role. Surround yourself with friends or mentors who speak positively and trust God. Being in an environment where people believe and live by faith can help your own it grow stronger. Negative energy and constant doubt can pull you down, so stay around those who lift you up.

Music and worship can also help. There are days when words fail, but worship speaks to the heart. When you play songs that lift God’s name, your heart softens and your spirit gets stronger. Psalm 22:3 says God lives in the praises of His people. That means worship brings Him close.
Another big one: obedience. Faith doesn’t grow by words alone. When you take steps and do what God asks—even when it’s uncomfortable—your faith gets stronger. Forgiving someone, giving when it’s hard, or choosing to wait when you want to rush, are all acts of faith. James 2:26 says, “Faith without action is dead.” In simple terms, believing is good, but doing something with that belief is what makes it real.
Building it is a process. You won’t wake up one day and have it all figured out. But if you take one step each day—pray, read, worship, obey, and stay around the right people—you’ll begin to feel stronger spiritually. You’ll trust more and worry less.
So even if your it feels small now, don’t give up. God sees your effort. He rewards those who keep seeking Him, even when life gets confusing. Start small and stay consistent. It will grow with time, and you’ll find peace no matter what’s happening around you.
