Speaking on employment creation, Mr. Umo said he would establish an ICT Excellence Center to facilitate the Certifications of graduates from his State Constituency to assist them to get jobs fast.
Hear him, “The ICT Excellence Center will ensure that all the graduates that come out of school from Ikot Ekpene and Obot Akara will do certifications in CISCO, ORACLE, Microsoft, HP, and Cyber Security Certifications.
“This is about enabling our young graduates to certify on Products. You don’t need to be a graduate to get a job. If you have CCIE, irrespective of whether you are a graduate or not, you get hired. It means you are certified on the highest level of CISCO and networking products. So we need to get our people certified on those products such as CCIE, CISCO Certification, Microsoft Network, Microsoft Certified Professional (MSCP); we need to do ORACLE, Database Administration Certification (DBAC), and others”, Mr. Umo stated.
He applauded the state government for training some persons from the state on ORACLE but said there was no platform for them to be employed to ensure that they continue with the ORACLE certification.
While calling on delegates from his State Constituency to vote for him during the forth-coming PDP Primaries, to enable him to secure his Party’s ticket, he appealed for his people to give him their votes during the House of Assembly election, if given the mandate, to help him achieve his employment creation plans for his people.
He was thankful to Gov Udom Emmanuel, the leader of PDP in the State for keeping Akwa Ibom State peaceful since he came on board.
