Lion Sir Maurice Ibok, District Governor of District 404A2 Nigeria, Lions Clubs International, has expressed deep appreciation to all who contributed to the remarkable success of the Ibom 2025 Convention, held in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Themed “Pragmatism in Humanitarian Intervention,” the convention brought together Lions and Leos from various regions of District 404A2. The event featured inspiring guest speakers, a cabinet meeting, plenary sessions, specialized training, a colorful parade, a hospitality night (Happy Hour), and a friendly football match between female Lions and Leos.

DG Maurice Ibok extended special appreciation to Lion Lami Ahmed, Past Council Chairperson of Multiple District 404 Nigeria and Chairperson of the Elders Forum, for her leadership and invaluable guidance. He also commended Lion Unwana Akpan, Host Committee Chairperson, and his team for their dedication, organization, and warm hospitality throughout the event.
A highlight of the convention was the parade competition, where Region 1 emerged in first place. The Leos were also praised for their outstanding performance in the football match, which added a fun and competitive spirit to the event.

According to Lion Sir Maurice Ibok, the convention’s primary goal was to promote pragmatism in humanitarian service, urging Lions and Leos to engage in practical, impactful initiatives that improve lives and bring meaningful change to their communities.
As the 2024/2025 Lions Service Year progresses, he encouraged members to embrace the spirit of pragmatism, focus on service excellence, and drive innovation in humanitarian efforts.
With the success of the Ibom 2025 Convention, the Lions Clubs International District 404A2 reaffirms its commitment to selfless service, leadership, and impactful interventions that uplift communities and transform lives.
