According to reports, soldiers from Operation Desert Sanity 2 have freed two of the three aid workers who were recently kidnapped by ISWAP terrorists in Gamborun-Ngala, Borno State.
The rescued aid workers are employees of Family Health International, (FHI360), a global non-governmental organization that offers humanitarian assistance to internally displaced people (IDPs) and communities that have been resettled in Borno and other northeastern states.
Three Aid Workers
According to numerous reports, the two aid workers were saved during a shootout in the Banki axis of the Bama Local Government Area between the 21-Armoured Brigade, Bama troops, and the terrorists.

Sources also claimed to Zagazola Makama, a security analyst in the Lake Chad region, that the victims jumped out of one of the terrorists’ vehicles and immediately identified themselves to the troops, while one other member of staff fled into the bush amid intense gunfire.
However, it was discovered that the two security officers who were kidnapped along with the aid workers who hid in the bush have not yet been located.
Recall that on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at around 4 am, an unspecified number of ISWAP terrorists carried out a silent raid on the home of FHI360 and abducted three aid workers and two security personnel.
FHI360 has not yet made an official statement regarding the rescue of its staff as of the time this report was being filled out.
