The A’Ibom State Government has warned that it would not hesitate to sanction anyone or group of persons who try to truncate the government’s genuine efforts in ensuring transparent processes in distributing palliatives.
Chief Press Secretary, CPS to the Governor, Mr Ekerete Udo made the government’s position known while reviewing government activities in the past two weeks.
Reacting to pockets of complaints of discrepancies in some communities as the distribution continues, the CPS said government was doing all it can to ensure successful and careful distribution to all communities assuring that the peoples concerns would be looked into and adequately addressed.
In his brief, Mr Ekerete Udo told government house reporters that so far, twenty local government areas have taken delivery of their palliatives and appealed for patience and understanding from the few local government areas who are yet to receive theirs.

On issues involving the Traditional Rulers Law, the Governor’s aide made a case for individuals and institution to adopt dialogue in all their dealings, while being conscious to promote the bond of unity for continued peace in the state.
The governor’s aide took time to review other activities of government in the past week, including the state’s 36th anniversary celebration, Made in Akwa Ibom Trade Fair, the Ibom Ignite Conference among other entrepreneurial driven programmes of government and sued for collaboration from all quarters as Governor Umo Eno was deliberate about peace, progress and development in the state.
According to Mr Udo, the briefing was at the directives of Governor Umo Eno and seeks to bridge any communication gap between government and the people, give clarifications on issues and receive feedback from the people that would enhance effective governance.
