In its bid to consolidate on the success of the ongoing electronic registration and membership validation, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State has moved to intensify efforts towards achieving set targets and offering a platform for more people to be politically active.
In a review meeting with ward registration agents held in Uyo, Friday, January 7, 2022, the State Chairman of PDP, Rt Hon. Elder Aniekan Akpan restated the party’s resolve to enroll every eligible adult in Akwa Ibom as a member of PDP, holding that members of the party offer one a good opportunity to contribute to the growth of the state while carrying out civic duties.
“As you know, PDP is the only party that is opened and available in Akwa Ibom State, and as dynamic as our party is, membership registration and revalidation are done electronically to give everyone the chance to enroll. Being a member of PDP offers one a big platform to contribute to state-building and take an active part in leadership recruitment”, he said.

The chairman at the meeting commended the ward registration agents of the party for their efforts in registering new members across all wards in the state while calling on party stakeholders across all levels to lend their support towards achieving optimal membership enrollment.
The January 2022 review of the exercise showed great progress made in various Local Government Areas with about 100,000 new registrants in the past month, as well as showing efforts by local government areas to top the chart in membership registration.
