Sycophancy refers to the practice of individuals ingratiating themselves with political leaders in order to gain personal favors, access to power, or protect their own interests.
It often involves excessive flattery, blind loyalty, and a disregard for objectivity and truth. Its effect which is detrimental on Governance: hinders Critical Thinking:
