A traditional ruler, His Eminence Ntennyin Solomon Etuk, Oku Ibom Ibibio, and President General of the Akwa Ibom State Traditional Rulers Council has charged those seeking elective offices in the upcoming general elections in 2023 not to create any tension that could detract the state from its path of peace and stability.
He gave the charge in his palace at Ikot Udobo in the State’s Nsit Ubuim Local Government Area when he hosted a Governorship candidate, Pastor Umo Eno, who came to consult with him.
“My advice is that election is a periodic constitutional process in Nigeria for electing servant-leaders to positions of power.
It goes without saying that this will cause tension in the state.
Akwa Ibom is well-known for its peaceful demeanor in Nigeria and around the world.

He commended the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, for working tirelessly and relentlessly over the past six years in office to ensure peace, harmony, and stability in the state, and he charged the political class to build on the gains made by the governor to ensure lasting peace in the state before, during, and after elections.
The apex traditional ruler of the Ibibio Nation stated that Umo Eno is a child of respect and that what God has destined for any man cannot be taken away.
He also stated that, as a Traditional priest, he is willing to bless his people regardless of political affiliation.
Pastor Umo Eno, a leading governorship aspirant, received royal prayers from the Royal father.
The monarch, who also serves as the President General of the Akwa Ibom State Traditional Rulers Council, poured out his heart in prayers for him, advising him to build political bridges across the state ahead of the elections.
“As you stated, stakeholders have endorsed you, and you have come here for royal blessing.

Pastor Eno was presented to the Monarch by the campaign’s Director-General, Ambassador Assam Assam, SAN, National Chairman of the Maintain Peace Movement, Barr Emmanuel Enoidem, and Senator Effiong Bob, who all spoke highly of him and asked for the monarch’s blessing.

Speaking also, the state’s Commissioner for Lands and Water Resources, Pastor Eno, said he was in the palace to inform the monarch that the majority of PDP stakeholders in Akwa Ibom State have endorsed him to run for Governor of the state.

He assured the monarch that if re-elected, he will build on the current administration’s achievements.
He sought the royal blessing of the Oku Ibom, who prayed for him in return.
