All Progressives Congress Suspends Austin Ekanem, Nkereuwem Enyongekere For Anti-Party Activities

The Akwa Ibom State branch of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended the duo of Mr. Austin Ekanem and Nkereuwem Enyongekere for anti-party activities and impersonation of the office chairman and party secretary respectively.

In a press release signed by the  State publicity Secretary and made available to the press, Mr. Ekanem was suspended from his Ibiono Western Ward 4 under a notice of resolution dated June 4, 2022.

According to the petition against him, he was accused of leading a parallel party structure, impersonation, and general anti-party activities contrary to Article 21A of the APC constitution.

The report also noted that Mr. Ekanem had declined two defense invitations addressed to him, hence the decision of the Disciplinary Committee to recommend his indefinite suspension from the party.

Recall that since his dismissal as the state chairman on March 17, 2022, by the Federal Court of Justice, Mr. Ekanem has continued to demand and write letters to the party leadership. To back up this claim, he maintained a parallel Party State Secretariat on Ikot Ekpene Street.
