There are indications that one Malachi, a suspected serial killer and armed robber suspected to have been killing people and plundering businesses in the Ikot Ambang-Itak axis of Uyo Capital City has been arrested.
An eyewitness said that the notorious Malachi is said to have been picked up this morning in his hideout in Nkim Junction, along Calabar-Itu Highway.
The eyewitness said residents and passers-by gathered to watch as the suspect and some of his gang members being taken away by policemen who were thought to have come from the state police headquarters in Ikot Akpan Abia.

This story of the arrest has been corroborated by an indigene of Ikot Idaha, one of the communities that has tasted the terror of the suspected killer, who claimed that a law enforcement officer broke the news of the capture of the terror.
Before the reported arrest, the fugitive was object of speculations about his invincibility, ability to disappear and the number of people he was going to kill.
However, the report has it that the Itam police station is being besieged by people who have gone there to catch a glimpse of suspected criminal believed to have been in custody there.
