As part of its humanitarian effort to impact the people across Oron Nation, Akwa Ibom State, and Nigeria, Edet Amana Foundation (EDAF) a non-governmental organization, on Thursday 4th May 2023 took its community literacy campaign program to the Oron people.
The campaign which kicks started at Mary Hanney Secondary School witnessed the second edition at Christian Secondary Technical College, Oyubia with participants across respective communities of Oron Nation and students of the institution.
In his opening remark, the Foundation Manager, Mr. Cyril Bieh while introducing the foundation and founder of the organization to the participant at the event said the program was organized by the foundation as a multidisciplinary grassroots project to teach the people about rural economic and social progress in technology, health, and life skills.

Cyil Bieh further took the participants through on life skill segment and the importance of acquiring a skill.
Presenting a paper on health issues, Dr. Collins Chikereze educated the participants on the three common diseases ravaging the world including but not limited to hepatitis, diabetes, and hypertension.
Dr. Chikereze said over two billion people worldwide are leaving with Hepatitis “B” with twenty-three million Nigerians while over six hundred Nigerians died as a result of hepatitis “b”
He listed the causes of hepatitis to include viruses, drugs, and alcohol consumption which eventually damages the liver.
On tech innovation, an ICT expert, Mr. Abraham Sylvester lectured the participants at the event on the latest technological innovation linking up with the fourth industrial revolution.
The event came to an end with an interactive segment where participants interacted with different facilitators
