Edidem Leads APC National Officers to Observe Governorship Primary, Congratulates Gov. Umo Eno

The Deputy Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, KufreAbasi Edidem, on Thursday led officials of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to Ward 10 to observe the party’s governorship primary election, where Governor Umo Eno emerged as the sole aspirant.

xercise, which witnessed a peaceful turnout of party members and stakeholders, formed part of the APC’s preparations for the forthcoming governorship election. Across the state, party faithful participated in the primary process in an atmosphere described as orderly and transparent.

Speaking shortly after the declaration of the results, Rt. Hon. Edidem who is also committee  member for the primaries in Akwa Ibom expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise and commended party members and the electorate for their peaceful disposition throughout the process.

According to the Deputy Speaker, the successful conduct of the primary election demonstrated the maturity of the party’s democratic culture and the commitment of members to sustaining peace and unity within the APC.

He noted that the peaceful atmosphere recorded during the exercise was a positive signal for the future of the party and the state’s democratic process. He urged party members to remain united and continue to support the leadership of the APC at both the state and national levels.

Edidem specifically called on the electorate to sustain their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Governor Umo Eno in the forthcoming elections, stressing that continued support for the party’s leadership would help consolidate ongoing development initiatives and strengthen governance.

“The peaceful conduct of this primary election is a reflection of the confidence our people have in the democratic process. I commend all party members, stakeholders, and the electorate for their maturity and commitment to peace. I urge everyone to remain steadfast in supporting our leaders and the APC as we prepare for future electoral contests,” Edidem stated.The DepuAPC The Deputy Speaker also congratulated Governor Umo Eno on his overwhelming victory at the primary election. He described the outcome as a clear demonstration of the confidence reposed in the governor by party members across the state.

Governor Eno secured victory with more than 349,000 votes, affirming his position as the party’s flag bearer and receiving a strong endorsement from APC members who participated in the exercise.

Edidem expressed optimism that the governor’s victory would further strengthen the party’s unity and readiness for the challenges ahead. He emphasized the need for continued collaboration among party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters to ensure the APC records greater successes in future elections.

The governorship primary election concluded peacefully, with party leaders expressing confidence that the outcome would further consolidate the APC’s position and provide a solid foundation for its electoral aspirations in Akwa Ibom State.
