The Foo Fighters have revealed their new musical direction for their next album, shifting from stadium rock legends to a Bee Gees homage band
The band will release an LP featuring four Bee Gees covers as the Dee Gees, a tribute to leader Dave Grohl’s
initials.
The Foos will cover the Gibb brothers’ 1970s dance songs Night Fever, Tragedy, You Should Be Dancing, and More Than That in Hail Satin.
Their cover of Andy Gibb’s Shadow Dancing, which spent seven weeks at number one in the United States in 1978, will also be included on side one of the album.
On the second side, five live renditions of songs from their previous album Medicine at Midnight will be performed. Grohl’s greatest falsetto, à la Barry Gibb, was used to announce the news by the American band. The Dee Gees, to be exact!!! The group was the first to perform.”Why don’t we just do a Bee Gees song?” I suggested. And someone simply said, “OK, how do you want to do it?” “Well, let’s do it like the Bee Gees,” I said.
He went on to remark that he’d “never, ever sung like that in my life,” but that it was “the simplest song I’ve ever performed!”• Mariah Carey claimed in her memoir last year that she “made an alternate record” while working on her 1995 album Daydream.

Thrillington was an instrumental reworking of Paul and his late wife Linda’s album Ram, which was released six years prior. Sir Macca repeated the feat in the 1990s and 2000s, releasing three rock/electronica albums every year.
Prince was formerly known as a squiggle, but he also produced a Selftitled album as Camille, his female alter ego, which was never released. For the album, he sang in a high-pitched style to hide his vocals.

Last but not least, Garth Brooks’ fictional rock persona Chris Gaines was played by him.
He was supposed to star in the film The Lamb, but it was never released.
Brooks did record one album under the Gaines moniker, which included the top five smash Lost in You.
