As we celebrate Christmas and move Akwa Ibom State forward, we acknowledge the air of peace in Akwa Ibom State under Governor Udom Emmanuel.
Peace is the secret of the shining accomplishments of Governor Udom Emmanuel for Akwa Ibom State. Peace precedes and gives rise to the physical achievements that have dotted the landscape of Akwa Ibom State from Ini to Ibeno and from Ikot Abasi to Itu. Peace is the most cherished asset of the State today because it has oiled the wheels of progress and development in Akwa Ibom State, leading to the ubiquity of investments in line with the industrialization praxis of Governor Udom Emmanuel.
The peaceful environment of the State has ushered in various viable industries in the State with attendant economic blossoming. It is a peace that has made Akwa Ibom State host the jubilee syringe industry which has since become a global brand, serving Africa and is wanted in Germany and other parts of Europe.
The secret of the shining accomplishments of Governor Udom Emmanuel
Today, Ibom Air has become a leading star in the aviation sky of Nigeria, with two additional Airbus A320 aircraft to swell the fleet of the airline. This is in addition to the contract signed during the Dubai Air Show between Ibom Air and aircraft manufacturer, Airbus for an additional ten brand new aircraft to the fleet of Ibom Air.
This will fast-track the regional dominance of Ibom Air, with flights to different parts of Africa while not abdicating its local routes services. It is only in an environment of peace that this flourishing investment can be possible.
The smart airport terminal building is at an advanced stage of completion at the Victor Attah International Airport, with world-class modern facilities.
Peace is the magic wand of the imposing industrialization program of Governor Udom Emmanuel in Akwa Ibom State.
The industries are ubiquitous; from the vehicle assembly plant to the metering industry, coconut refinery, the burgeoning Victor Attah International Airport which will have the best International Terminal Building, the Four Points by Sheraton hotel open for business, the Ibom Deep Seaport for which Governor Udom Emmanuel had despatched a high-powered delegation to Seoul, South Korea to facilitate its smooth and soon sail in, and a host of other industrialization programs. The 21-story intelligence building and the rest.
Akwa Ibom people can count their blessings and name them one by one. All these are products of the peace enjoyed by the State through the God-fearing leadership of Governor Udom Emmanuel who is leading the people on the path of worship, attracting the peace of the Lord to the people, and State is the better for it.
In this season of Christmas which symbolizes the birth of the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, the State should see that it is not just by mere coincidence that the State is keying into the peace movement across the State which the campaign train of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, represents, with the governorship candidate of the PDP, Pastor Umo Eno as the leading star. Let us all support Governor Udom Emmanuel’s succession plan that is anchored on peace and security.

By this resolve, we are to individually and collectively ensure that at the end of the tenure of Governor Udom Emmanuel in 2023, the State is not handed over to anyone with questionable character, capable of truncating the peace we are enjoying in Akwa Ibom State. This is to ensure that we do not recede from all that we are enjoying in the State in various packages, especially the massive industrialization program in the State. We have seen the gains in a leadership that is driven by the guiding principle of peace.
Therefore, we cannot leave what is good and rewarding to what will likely take our State into darkness and insecurity which will be highly detrimental to our collective good.
As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ in this season of peace, Akwa Ibom people should continue to embrace the peace God has given to the State through the commitment of Governor Udom Emmanuel. Let us support the candidacy of Pastor Umo Eno who has the capacity, competence, and character to continue with the peace we enjoy in our State.
With this, we will sustain the peace in the State beyond the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel. It is a peace we must all sustain because it is not the peace the world gives. It is the peace of the Lord.
Therefore, the fervent prayer on the lips of every Akwa Ibomite is that peace in the State should be sustained, maintained, and nurtured for comfort, safety, and prosperity. Pastor Umo Eno is the answer to this prayer. Akwa Ibom State cannot reject what God has specially given to the State. God is always with us, and that same God will ARISE once again for His people, even as we go closer to the election year.
