As Christians celebrate the birth of Christ, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel wants the Church to sustain the spirituality it is known for, praying for both citizens and government to deliver on their responsibilities.
The Governor was speaking at the United Evangelical Church, Awa Iman, Onna LGA where he shared fellowship with a congregation of Christians in his home church in a special Christmas service Sunday
He was accompanied by his wife Dr. Martha Udom Emmanuel, members of the first family, some members of the state executive council, stakeholders, and some senior citizens.
Being the last Christmas he is celebrating as Governor of the state, Mr. Emmanuel acknowledged the support and prayers from the church in the past seven years, attributing the success of his administration to the mighty hand of God.

Governor Emmanuel pays special tributes to his parents
Governor Emmanuel while paying special tributes to his parents for his sound Christian upbringing, emphasized the need for parents to introduce their children to godly ways early in life in order to shape their future.
In the spirit of the season, the governor joined the Choir in rendering a Christmas song he wrote some years ago and later, donated a bus to the church to aid in evangelism.
The Resident Minister, of the United Evangelical Church, Awa Iman, and Reverend Umoh Umoh in a sermon preached peace and love which are significant of Christmas, the birth of Christ, and prayed for peace in the church, home, Akwa Ibom state and the nation Nigeria.
Government House Correspondent, Kufre Emmanuel reports that his service featured moments of praise, worship, thanksgiving to God for His mercies all through the year, and renditions by the children’s youth and women’s choir.
