The Senate President, Dr. Ahmad Lawan Saturday joined Governor Udom Emmanuel in Uyo to inaugurate projects initiated by the Senator representing Uyo senatorial district in the Red Chambers as a token for the mandate given him to serve.
The Inauguration of the 1.3km road network in Ifa Ikot Akpan, Uyo, and the Multipurpose Recreational Complex followed a special Thanksgiving service at the instance of the celebrator, Senator Bassey Albert for God’s grace upon him and his family
President of the 9th Senate, Dr Ahmed Lawan in his remarks before the inauguration, described the Multi-purpose Recreational facility as a project with dual capacity that will handle both physical fitness and mental development, and called on the people to explore its numerous advantages for their benefits and justify the essence of the project.
Senator Lawan extolled the leadership qualities of Senator Bassey Albert, referring to Senator Albert as a patriotic representative who puts the interest of his constituents first.
Recalling a bill co-sponsored by Senator Albert to amend the Deep Offshore and Inland Basin Production Sharing Contract which became a law, the Senate President noted that Senator Albert’s performance in the senate demonstrates exemplary attributes of a passionate leader whose contributions reflects competence.
The Senate President who led a cross section of the leadership of the Senate to the event, commended Governor Udom Emmanuel’s sterling leadership qualities, describing Governor Emmanuel as a partner in development both at the state and national scenes.
Governor Udom Emmanuel on his part, joined Senator Bassey Albert in thanking God for His grace and successful execution of the project, noting that the multipurpose Recreational Complex will complement efforts by his administration in ICT development and further serve as an alternative for tourists in the state.

Governor Emmanuel while praying for peace and tranquility in the state, urged the people to take advantage of the project to develop themselves and safeguard it for posterity.
The Senator Representing Akwa Ibom North-East, Senator Bassey Albert, leading his wife, Imaobong and other family members in the thanksgiving session, expressed appreciation to God for His benevolence upon him and his family.
Senator Albert also thanked his constituents for trusting him with the mandate, emphasizing that the project was designed to meet the needs of the people in the state.
According to Senator Albert, the complex seats on a 3-hectares of land and has a standard football field, ICT center to drill people on digital proficiency among other facilities.
