The reclamation of the previously hazardous gully site on Etim Umana and Udo Inwang by Urua Udofia Streets off Nwaniba Road in Uyo has sparked excitement among residents and garnered sincere commendations for the Umo Eno led government in Akwa Ibom.
The State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, was lauded for his efforts during an inspection of the progress at the two gully reclamation projects.
Nwaniba Residents Commend Pst Umo Eno
The Village Head of Uyo Village, Etteidung Aniedi Edet Okon, expressed overwhelming excitement and appreciation to the government for undertaking the project. Governor Eno, after conducting a thorough inspection from Urua Udofia to Dominic Utuk Avenue, expressed satisfaction with the work done so far by the contractors, Bulletine Construction Company Limited.
This visit marked his second inspection since granting approval for the project in August last year. The Governor noted the substantial improvement at the site, which was previously impassable and had caused severe property damage before the government’s intervention. Moved by the plight of the people and the significant property losses due to the gully, Governor Eno swiftly approved the contract to address the issue.

He commended the commitment of Chief Faysal Harb, the Managing Director of Bulletine Construction Company, and urged the company to expedite the work to ensure timely completion of the project, which is envisioned to transform into a modern recreational park and tourist site.
The Commissioner of Works and Fire Service, Professor Eno Ibanga, who accompanied the Governor during the inspection, highlighted that the project would go beyond mere reclamation. With features like beautification, a football pitch, and other amenities, the area from Dominic Utuk to Udo Inwang on Nwaniba Road is destined to become a tourist destination and a relaxation spot for families. He commended Governor Umo Eno for his foresight in implementing the project.
The Village Head of Uyo Village, Etteidung Aniedi Edet Okon, conveyed the heartfelt appreciation of indigenes and residents to Governor Umo Eno. The successful gully reclamation project has alleviated concerns about safety and property damage that plagued the community for over fifteen years.
