Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District Women Forum holds Thanksgiving Service

Women under the auspices of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District Women Forum gathered at the Apostolic Church Mbiabong Ikot Udofia Ini Local Government Area for a thanksgiving service.

Led by the president, Mrs. Inibehe Etukudo, the women sang, danced, and praised God for his faithfulness in 2021 and rededicated themselves to God for 2022.

The forum also used the occasion to donate 100 Bibles, 100 hymn books, and chairs to the church.

Widows in the church were also assisted with wrappers and cash.

Speaking at the occasion, the president of the forum Mrs. Inibehe Etukudo said the Thanksgiving was organized to publicly express the gratitude of the women to God for his protection and the reign of peace in Akwa Ibom state.

Mrs. Etukudo said 2021 was filled with activities but God saw the women through with no casualties.

The President, on behalf of the women, pledged to remain focused and dedicated to the Akwa Ibom project.

In her goodwill message, the Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Glory Edet encouraged the women to develop the attitude of thanking God and man always noting that thanksgiving is not only with money as service in God’s sanctuary can be rendered as a measure of thanksgiving.

Dr. Edet encouraged all the women to pray for peace to continue in the state and the completion agenda of Governor Udom Emmanuel.

Speaking on behalf of the Board of Trustees of the forum, the wife of the leader Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Lady Ime Udo Kerian thanked the women for their steadfastness and encouraged them to bring in more women to enlarge the group.

Lady Kerian said the commitment of the forum has led to the establishment of more women organizations in the state and encouraged members of the forum not to relent in maintaining their first position.

The chairman planning committee of the thanksgiving service and wife of the State Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, Mrs. Unyime Akpan thanked all those who have sacrificed their time and resources for the event to hold and the church for accepting the group in spite of short notice.

The Area Superintendent of the church Apostle A.E Inuaeyen in his sermon noted that thanksgiving should be a continuous exercise and an obligation on believers.

The clergy who took his text from psalms 107:1-43 said thanksgiving provokes God to do more for his people.

Prayers were offered for the unity of the State, destruction of satanic influences on the leaders, and God’s favour for the completion agenda of the State.
