A journalist with the Akwa Ibom Broadcasting Co-operation, AKBC, Margaret Ukpabio, also known as Pastor Maggy Bam, has won the 2021 CLIMA AFRICA as ‘Gospel Music Artiste of the Year in South South Nigeria.
Nominees from six states of south south Nigeria took part in the event that saw Maggy Bam emerge as the champion.
The event held in the federal capital city of Nigeria witnessed a selected audience due to coronavirus restrictions.
The CEO of the CLIMA Africa Organization, Mr. Mike Uwak, in his comment at the event said that it was an honour well deserved for Pastor Maggy Bam Ukpabio, who is the Chief Ambassador of African Women Mega Choir, AWOMEC, as she joined in positively impacting the Gospel Music Industry in Nigeria.
Mr. Uwak said Pastor Ukpabio has been doing this by training Choirs within the country, talent hunting, and coaching via different schools, writing and releasing songs as well as ensuring that the upcoming generation is positioned to continue praising God among many other contributions.

In his reaction, the Director-General of AKBC, Pastor Anietie Ukpe congratulated Pastor Maggy Bam Ukpabio for winning the prestigious Gospel Music Award.
The 2021 and fifth edition of the Christian Legendary and Impact Makers Award in Africa, also known as CLIMA AFRICA, attracted top Gospel Music Artistes, Pastors, Politicians, and fun lovers to the city of Abuja.
The nominations for the award spread across Nigeria and Africa, aimed at celebrating the Nigerian Gospel Music Industry in singing as well as preaching peace and unity while honouring Jesus Christ from every tribe and tongue in the course of rebranding gospel music in Africa.
