The tanker explosion in Jos North local government area-LGA resulted in the deaths of 13 people and the injuries of another ten, according to the Plateau State Police Command.
Additionally, according to the Command, the incident also resulted in the destruction of 28 shops, eight cars, six tricycles, and two motorcycles.
The Bauchi road area of Jos North LGA witnessed an explosion after a tanker carrying Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) experienced brake failure.
The Police confirmed the numbers to journalists on Friday in Jos, the state capital, through its public relations officer, Alfred Alabo.
He claims that on April 27, 2023, at around 13:30 p.m., a fatal truck accident involved a tanker truck carrying petroleum products that lost control of its brakes and caught fire.
The incident resulted in the burning of 28 stores, 8 cars, 6 tricycles, and 2 motorcycles.
He continued by saying that 13 unnamed people had been completely burned.
