Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel has tasked Nigerians, especially members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to work together towards reviving the economy, thereby restoring the dignity of the country by 2023.
He was speaking at the State Secretariat of the PDP, Atan Offot, Uyo where he addressed the leadership, stakeholders, and members of the PDP from across the state.
The event was the new year get-together of the party, an annual tradition that brought together the party structure and members from the units, wards, chapter, and state levels.
At the get-together, Governor Emmanuel thanked the PDP family in Akwa Ibom for their contributions to the national strength of the party and urged them to continue to unite to return the country to her glory days.

He assured that all ongoing projects in the state will be completed as part of the drive to deliver on the party’s manifesto which brought him to office in 2015.
As the political terrain gets busy ahead of the 2023 elections, the governor also advised the party to be cautious of those seeking political powers at all costs, stressing that no one’s ambition was worth their safety and the safety of their families.
The state PDP Chairman, Elder Aniekan Akpan while welcoming Governor Emmanuel to the get-together, expressed appreciation to him for the various projects in the state and steady support to the party, saying they were indicative of his respect to the party’s hierarchy.
Elder Akpan, therefore, pledged the continued support of the party for Governor Emmanuel to finish strong.
The event attracted goodwill messages from the chairman of chapter chairmen in the state, Mr Edet Etang-Nkanga, National Ex-Officio of the party, Obong Paul Ekpo, and the immediate past National Legal Adviser of the party, Barr Emmanuel Enoidem.
