A new paramount ruler has been sworn in to direct the affairs of the traditional institution in the Ini Local Government Area.
He is His Royal Majesty, Edidem Udo-Ette Edon, a native of Mbente village, Nkari clan in Ini Local Government Area.
Governor Udom Emmanuel Performed the swearing-in today at the Akwa Ibom state traditional rulers Council, Wellington Bassey Way, Uyo to further commemorate the state’s 35th anniversary.
While congratulating the new paramount ruler of Ini, Edidem Udo-Ette Edon, the governor re-echoed his commitment to ensuring improved welfare for the royal fathers in the state.
He announced that clan heads in the state are to be gifted with official cars before the end of November this year.
Governor Emmanuel commended the commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Frank Archibong for effectively handling the affairs of the traditional institution in the state, expressing confidence in his performance.

The Paramount Ruler of Nsit Ibom and Oku Ibom Ibibio, His Royal Majesty, Ntenyin Solomon Etuk in his remarks said it was time for Akwa Ibom People at home and in the diaspora to join hands with Governor Emmanuel to build a greater state, as a collective responsibility owed the state.
While applauding governor Emmanuel for landmark development in the state, especially in building a befitting quarter for traditional rulers, the Oku Ibom Ibibio assured that as traditional fathers, they will continue to play advisory roles at every stage, in the interest of peace in Akwa Ibom state.
In his remarks the commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Frank Archibong recalled the numerous interventions brought by Governor Emmanuel saying he has in the past seven years raised the profile of traditional fathers in Akwa Ibom.
A high point of the event was the administration of the oath of Office and oath of allegiance, followed by the presentation of staff of office and certificate of recognition to the new paramount ruler and some clan heads by Governor Udom Emmanuel.
