The United States and Russian presidents are due to meet in Geneva for talks
Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin are preparing to sit side by side for their first talks at a summit in Geneva, Switzerland.
The talks came at a time both Presidents describe their relations as being at rock bottom.
The two nations may discuss Issues of arms control, sanctions, and US allegations of Russian cyber-attacks and interference in elections.
Reports say no major breakthrough is expected to come out of the talks but hopes are also not dashed in coming to some sought of agreement
The talks according to correspondent is coming on the tail-end of Mr. Biden’s first foreign trip as US president,
Political pundits say the choice of Geneva may be seen as the setting harks back to the Cold War summit between US President Ronald Reagan and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev in 1985.
Mr. Biden had said it is an important step if the two nations are able to find stability in their relations.
He said he hopes to work with the Russian President Mr Putin on areas of common co-operation in the interests of both countries.
