The 11th International President of Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio, Akparawa James Edet has on behalf of the Executive Council and members of Mboho worldwide expressed appreciation to guests who identified with the organization during her recent inauguration.
Speaking to Newsmen after the event, the new President expressed gratitude to the State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel who was represented by the PDP Standard Bearer in the State, Pastor Umoh Eno for his benevolence towards the Mboho.
Akparawa James Edet also expressed gratitude to the wife of the state governor, Dr Martha Udom Emmanuel, for her compassion and affectionate disposition to the organization.
The International President of the Mboho also had words of appreciation for the Deputy Governor, Mr. Moses Ekpo, Speaker of the House of Assembly, Mr Aniekan Bassey, the State Chief Judge, Justice Ekaette Obot, represented by Justice Effiong Effiong who administered the oath of Office on the new executive members.

Akparawa James Edet also thanked the Chairman on the occasion, Engr. Uwem Okoko of Hensek Integrated Services, the State Chairperson of PANDEF, Obonganwan Grace Ekong for accepting to play the role of the Mother of the Day at the inauguration, sister socio-cultural organizations in the State, the media community, especially the Chairman of Daar Communications, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi for the media coverage of the event.
The new International President commended members of Mboho at home and in the Diaspora for turning up en masse to add colour to the event and appealed for continued support and ceaseless prayers for him and his Executive Council as they assume office.
Meanwhile, the newly inaugurated Executive Council of Mboho has rolled out a programme of activities to mark this year’s Founders Day Ceremony of the Organization.
A release signed by the International Public Relations Officer of Mboho, Akparawa-anwan Agnes Okure on behalf of the International President indicates that the organization, founded 1st August 1987 will commence her 35th Founders Day Ceremony with a Thanksgiving Service this Sunday 31st July 2022 at the Sacred Heart Parish, Aka Offot, Uyo by 10 am.
The Thanksgiving Service will be followed by the induction of new members into the organization at the Mboho’s International Secretariat, Udo Udoma Avenue, Uyo.
According to the release, on Monday 1st August, being Founders Day, some founding members alongside the leadership of the 11th International Executive Council will be guests on select radio and television stations in the State to enlighten members of the public on the activities of the Mboho and the journey so far.
The release further adds that the 35th Founders Day celebration will climax with a Banquet in honour of the founding members.
Tagged ”An Evening with the Living Ancestors”, the gathering is planned in appreciation of the twelve patriotic Ibibio sons for their vision in giving birth to the Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio 35 years ago.
The evening gathering will also provide an opportunity for the founding members to unwind, relax and relish the teething years of the organization with family, friends and associates.
