Ghana’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, has called an emergency meeting of the Ghana Football Association for January 21, 2022, in response to the Black Stars’ disgraceful exit from the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
Ussif said in a statement released that his ministry “is committed to taking steps to restore the Black Stars to the status of symbol of national pride of every Ghanaian and a powerhouse in African football.”
The minister expressed disappointment with the performance of the Black Stars and stated that the Ministry would like to meet with FA officials on Friday to discuss the next steps.
“The entire country is extremely disappointed by the Black Stars’ abysmal performance and early exit from the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon,” said the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

“Despite the government providing the team with all of the necessary logistical and financial support, including resources for preparations and participation in the tournament’s qualifier stage, and eventually a pre-tournament camping in Qatar,” the ministry said in a statement.
The Black Stars were eliminated from the competition after losing 3 2 to Comoros and failing to win a single match in the group stage.
Ghana’s elimination from the competition was the worst performance by the Senior National Team in the history of the AFCON tournament.
The majority of Ghanaians have called on the FA to fire the team’s head coach, Milovan Rajevac, immediately due to his poor performance.
