Akwa Ibom at 33: Cleric harps on Peace, Unity …commends Udom Emmanuel

As Akwa Ibom celebrates the 33rd anniversary of its creation, a renowned gospel minister, Suff. Bishop Ezekiel Ukoh has called on the people of the State to unite and live peacefully with one another irrespective of tribe and religion.

Bishop Ukoh who spoke our reporter in OrukAnam, expressed gratitude to God for keeping the people of the State together for the past 33 years and commended the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel for the achievements he has recorded, especially for steps taken to prevent the spread of the dreaded covid-19 pandemic.

Bishop Ukoh who is the Superintendent, Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, IkotAfangaSuperintendency, called on the people of the State to continue to worship God in spirit and in truth, stressing that with continuous prayers, more good things will continue to come to the State.

He advised the youths to shun cultism, armed robbery, kidnapping, rape, child abuse and other form of social vices, but should rather engage themselves in positive ventures so as to become useful and responsible citizens in future.

On the forth-coming local government election in the State, Bishop Ukoh warned against politics of blackmail, violence, hatred and called for peaceful, transparent, free and fair election where people’s votes will count.

The man of God advised against killing one another in the name of politics, stressing that election should not be seen as a do-or-die affair.
