American rock band Aerosmith has postponed six farewell concerts in North America due to damage to Steven Tyler‘s vocal cords.
The band kicked off their Peace Out tour with several concerts earlier this month and was scheduled to perform in Toronto on Tuesday, but it has now been pushed back to February 2024.
The next concert on their revised schedule will take place in Tampa, Florida next month.
In a statement posted online, Tyler, 74, said “I am heartbroken to announce that I have been given strict orders from my doctor not to sing for the next 30 days,”
“I injured my vocal cords during Saturday’s show [in Elmont, New York], which caused a hemorrhage.
We’ll have to postpone it a few days so we can come back and give you the performance you deserve.
“Aerosmith had hits in the 1970s, 80s and 90s such as Dream On, Walk This Way and I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing.

The Grammy-winning Boston band, known for its freewheeling, hedonistic lifestyle as well as its riffs, was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, the same year the group performed at halftime of the Super Bowl.
They canceled part of their Las Vegas residency last year after Tyler checked himself into rehab.
Their latest tour was scheduled to end in Montreal on January 26 next year, but it will now continue next month, culminating in a rescheduled concert in Cleveland, Ohio, on February 29.
Shows in Detroit, Chicago, Washington DC and Raleigh, North Carolina were also affected.
Fans can keep their tickets, which will be valid for the new match dates, or request a refund.
