Akwa Ibom State government and Moroccan phosphoric acid manufacturer and giant in phosphate fertilizer production OCP Africa are partnering on building a fertilizer plant
Governor Udom Emmanuel made this known after meeting with the delegation from the Company in Government House, Uyo.
The Governor lauded OCP AFRICA for visiting the host community, noting that it was a step in the right direction for the smooth take-off of the project.
He expressed confidence that the fertilizer plant would be of immense benefit to Akwa Ibom State, as farmers will be trained to access quality agricultural inputs.
Governor Emmanuel who announced that work will soon commence in other phases of the project, thanked the host community, Ikot Abasi for the warm reception accorded the investors.

The Managing Director and leader of the delegation, Mohamed Hettiti, said the visit was to partner the host community towards a successful execution of the project.
He hinted that his team had visited the site and collaborations have commenced with the host community and strategic partners in agricultural sector.
AKBC Government House Correspondent, Kufre Emmanuel reports that Akwa Ibom State Government had recently signed a contract of one point four billion Dollar with OCP AFRICA in Morocco for the Fertilizer Plant.
