The Hijab controversy between the government and interested parties has resulted in the reopening of schools in Kwara State.
The principals and teachers in the impacted schools had been given the go-ahead by the state government to resume their academic duties.
The schools were inaugurated by a government task force that toured the city to ensure that the rules were adhered to, fully implemented, and that teachers and students would be protected and permitted to start their academic activities.
At Cherubim and Seraphim College in Sabo Oke Ilorin, some church leaders locked and barricaded the entrance until government representatives, escorted by security guards, gave teachers and students assurances of their safety before the school gate was opened.

All educational activities took place in peace at Baptist LGEA primary and secondary schools in Surulere, Ilorin, where teachers and students could be seen in their classrooms.
Task force members and representatives from the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, as well as the Teaching Service Commission, reassured the general public, in particular parents and teachers, that the unfortunate incident has been put behind the state and that the schools are safe for students to resume their studies in earnest and peace.
According to the officials, the government will keep interacting with all parties in order for them to uphold the law and coexist in harmony.
That Kwara State has a reputation for being very tolerant and calm.
