In a significant display of unity and reconciliation, Chieftains, Political Stalwarts, Leaders, and Party Officers of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Etinan Local Government Area (LGA) convened on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, for a reconciliation meeting.
The outcome saw a resounding vote of confidence passed on the President of the Senate, Sen. Godswill Obot Akpabio, and the Rt. Hon. Dennis Akpan, as peace returned to the party in Etinan.
APC Passes Vote of Confidence on Senate President
Addressing the gathering, Sir Unyime Ekwere, the chairman reconciliation committee, expressed gratitude to the chapter chairman of Etinan, Comrade Israel Tommy, and the entire party for their unwavering support towards the committee’s efforts. He specifically acknowledged the invaluable assistance of Rt. Hon. Barr. Aniefiok Denise Akpan, the Special Assistant to the Senate President on legal and documentation, for his timely intervention in the peace process.
Furthermore, Sir Unyime Ekwere urged chapter officers and ward chairmen to fully embrace the peace and reconciliation efforts initiated by the party leaders. He emphasized the importance of unity in propelling the party forward.
In addition to the committee’s chairman, other notable figures such as Obong Ini Obot and Obong Ekuyik Ekong echoed sentiments of gratitude towards the reconciliation committee’s endeavors. They emphasized the necessity for all party stakeholders to collaborate for the common interest of the party.
Expressing appreciation for the committee’s dedication, the Special Assistant to the Senate President, Barr. Denis Akpan who defected from PDP to APC commended the commitment shown towards the peace process. He also thanked the chapter chairman and party leaders for their willingness to work together for the betterment of the party.
The chapter chairman, comrade Israel Tomy took the opportunity to applaud the National Leader of the party, President Bola Tinubu, and Akwa Ibom State Leader and Senate President of Nigeria, Sen. Godswill Obot Akpabio, for their steadfast commitment to national development.

During the meeting, speakers emphasized the importance of forgiveness and mutual respect among members, highlighting the need for unity to achieve common goals.
