Funeral preparations are underway for late Prince Philip, husband to Queen Elizabeth The Second, who passed away Friday, at the age of 99.

The funeral rites according to a release by Buckingham Palace, will be held at Saint George’s Chapel, in the grounds of Windsor Castle at three o’clock in the afternoon on April 17.

Prince Philip is reported to have requested for a funeral of minimal fuss and that he will not lie-in-state where members of the public would have a view his coffin.

It is confirmed that the funeral is to adhere to the current Covid-19 guidelines that stipulate not more than thirty mourners.

The Queen will be joined by senior members of the family, including Prince of Wales who is expected to deliver the eulogy at his father’s funeral and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

Prince Charles’ son, William, his wife and Prince Harry are to also attend the funeral, but without Harry’s wife, Meghan, who is pregnant and has been advised by her doctor not to travel to the UK.

Prince Philip passed away peacefully on the early hours of Friday, April 9 at Windsor Castle, two months to his centenary birthday.
