Five inmates and two officers have been hurt in a prison riot in the state of Bauchi.
Abubakar Adamu, the center’s spokesman, claims that the incident happened as a result of a prison official trafficking items for imitation.
When explaining the incident to reporters, Adamu said that the officer was unfortunate because intelligence had managed to capture him. During the course of the investigation, the prisoners learned about the incident and broke into the store, stealing shovels, daggers, and diggers.

The prison staff had to start shooting into the air to scare the inmates away after they broke some of the items while they were chanting songs and slogans inside the facility.
Five prisoners and two officials were hurt during the brawl. The inmates had returned to their rooms, according to Adamu, who also added that security had been stepped up, with vehicular and traffic movement around the area restricted and the roads leading to the Correctional Center barricaded.
