Addo also said that his players adapted effectively in the second half of the second-leg clash at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja, which helped the Black Stars win.

After a 1-1 draw against Nigeria in Abuja on Tuesday, Addo’s men qualified for the World Cup on the basis of an away goal.

Both teams drew in Abuja thanks to goals from Thomas Partey and William Troost-Ekong.

Last Friday, the Black Stars drew 0-0 with the Super Eagles in Kumasi.

“I am really thrilled, exulted that it was a tough encounter, we made our way through we had significant problems, especially in the first half,” Addo said after the game to Joy Sports Ghana.

And we made certain adjustments, to which the players responded admirably.

They [Nigeria] have a lot of potentials. When we needed him, our goalkeeper was there.

The defensive line was exceptional. We had a little luck as well.”
