Governor Umo Eno has cautioned against any form of abuse or attack on leadership at any level of government, especially the presidency, emphasizing that his government will not support any insult on leadership, rather, will collaborate with the centre for the purpose of development.
The Governor gave the advice at the Ibom Hall Grounds, Uyo, Friday as he received not less than thirty-seven thousand, eight hundred and seventy four decampees from other political parties back to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP family in Akwa Ibom.
Umo Eno Warns A’Ibom People
Addressing the party leadership and decampees, the governor applauded the over thirty-seven thousand decampees for the bold step to return to PDP, saying it was time for all to work together in unity and peace through which progress can be made.
While stressing that Akwa Ibom remains a PDP State, Governor Eno urged all, especially those returning from other political parties who were given to abuse, to do away with such negative character and adopt the character of respect to constituted authorities as instructed in the Bible.
He thank the decampees from the various political parties for the tough fight they gave the PDP in the course of campaigns and election, which he said strengthen their resolve to stand firm in God and attributed his emergence to God who knew the end from the beginning.

The Governor urged the leadership of the PDP from ward to chapter levels to receive and accept their returning brothers and sisters in love while also advising the returning members to show respect to leadership heirarchy, assuring that his government will work with everyone in the spirit of inclusivity.
With various programmes targeted at the wellbeing of men, women, youth and elders, such as The Arise Compassionate Home for the very poor families in each wards, routine payment of gratuities, Arise Initiative for the Elderly among other lofty initiatives, the governor assured that there is something good for everyone in his government saying he is poised to ensure good governance.
The State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Elder Aniekan Akpan had earlier presented the decampees to Governor Umo Eno after extracting the commitment of the representatives from various blogs to support the Umo Eno led government to succeed.
Former chieftains of other political parties including Mr, Enyong-Ekere, Emmanuel Ukoette, Henry Offiong, Ime Eshiet, Ubong Victor Edem and one time Commissioner, Samuel Efanga who spoke at the event said their return to the PDP was inspired by the governor’s focus on development, all inclusive leadership style and lofty programmes geared towards a better Akwa Ibom, all in the space of only nine months in office.
