The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel says he would leave the office with the state civil service fully automated for efficiency in government businesses.

Governor Emmanuel stated this when he declared open a one-day training session on the Human Resource Management System for members of the state executive council who are converging on the Ibom Icon Hotels and Golf Resort, Uyo for the all-important exercise

Addressing participants shortly before the session commenced, the governor said the training was to ensure effective service delivery and in line with his determination to leave the state civil service better than he met it.

While working to reposition the service, Governor Emmanuel charged heads of MDAs and establishments to ensure that all data capturing needed for full automation was completed on or before January 31st for an onward switch from manual to the new system for efficient service delivery.

He called for seriousness by all concerned, warning that by April 1, 2022, requisition would no longer be attended to manually.

The Governor sued for utmost cooperation from civil servants in the state in the process of ensuring better services.

According to Governor Emmanuel, at the end of the training, participants are to be well equipped to manage and account for the state’s assets while issues that cause gridlock in matters involving pensions, gratuities, retirement, promotion, recruitment and problems of ghost workers would be sorted out and solved.
