The All Progressives Congress, APC, Governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom State, Obong Akanimo Udofia has declared that he would put workers’ welfare first by paying salaries, pensions, and gratuities on time when he becomes the governor of Akwa Ibom State in the March 2023 elections.
He promised to pick up where Chief Godswill Akpabio’s administration left off by paying employees an extra month’s salary in December, bringing back free and mandatory education, and providing bursaries, scholarships, and grants to Akwa Ibom students.
The APC, Governorship candidate has also pledged to accelerate the infrastructure and human capital development of the State with a view to making Akwa Ibom State a choice destination for investors and tourists.
Additionally, he praised Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate, and pledged to work with him to spur local development.
He was speaking at the official flag-off of the APC campaigns in Akwa Ibom State in front of a crowd of supporters at the Ikot Ekpene Township Stadium on Wednesday
According to the APC candidate for governor, he said would make a binding agreement with the Akwa Ibom people to ensure everyone’s prosperity. “After being sworn in as governor of Akwa Ibom State on May 29, 2023, I will give local government administration complete autonomy, support our local economy, and promote the advancement of the general populace.

Akan Udofia added, “I will also be very intentional about the healthcare of the young and old residents of Akwa Ibom State as well as the educational development of our youths.”.

In regards to his plans for the growth of aviation, Obong Udofia stated that three months after his inauguration as governor, Akwa Ibom State Airport will be designed with the full capacity of an international airport, and within 90 days of taking office, he will conduct the groundbreaking for the construction of an underground road from the international airport down to Oron.
Obong Udofia thanked the APC and the Akwa Ibom people for their “resilience, unwavering support, and show of love” and urged them to work with him in the upcoming elections to create the Akwa Ibom State of their dreams.
Senator Godswill Akpabio, a former governor of Akwa Ibom State and a senatorial candidate for the Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District, declared that Obong Akan Udofia was not chosen by man but by God, who would ensure his victory in the election in March 2023.
When elected as the state’s next governor, Udofia would provide food, employment, and a link to the center of the Nigerian government, according to Senator Akpabio, who characterized the APC candidate as an international businessman with the experience and connections needed to improve conditions in Akwa Ibom State. He pleaded with the electorate to be prepared to cast ballots for every APC candidate.
The presentation of flags to all APC candidates by the party’s state chairman, Obong Stephen Ntukekpo, was the ceremony’s high point.
He urged the candidates to spread the word of prosperity that the APC administration would bring to the state’s every nook and cranny and win the upcoming elections
