The Youths of Mkpatak Community under the aegis of Mkpatak Youth development Association has paid a solidarity visit to the Chairman, Board of Governors, Top faith University Mkpatak, Dr. Emmanuel Abraham to felicitate with him on the securement of approval of Topfaith University by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
Setting the tone for the visit, the Youth President, Elder Samuel Dick said the Youths deemed it fit to identify with Dr. Abraham in his developmental stride in the education sector in the Community and in Akwa Ibom State in general.
The Youth President thanked Dr. Abraham for citing Topfaith University in his hometown and working very hard to obtain the approval from the Federal Government.
Pledging the Youths readiness to secure, protect and preserve the facilities for the benefits of all and sundry, the association also assured the incoming students of the Institution and the University Community of their safety.
In his goodwill message on the occasion, the Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Elder Prince Ukpong Akpabio noted with satisfaction the gesture of Mkpatak youths in Identifying with excellence and goodwill of Dr. Abraham.
He admonished them to rise up to the faith of greatness and key into the vision of Dr. Abraham which synchronized with the vision of the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel.
He thanked the Chairman, Board of Governors, Dr. Abraham for making the State proud and pledged to contribute his quota as the trade and investment Commissioner in the state towards the development of the University.
The Commissioner urged the Youths of Mkpatak to protect the properties and not hesitate to call on him when need arises.
Also speaking, a member representing Essien Udom State Constituency in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Barrister Esseh Umoh commended the youths of Mkpatak Community for self-discipline particularly for observing covid-19 protocols in the hall and conducting themselves in an orderly manner.
Mr. Umoh lauded Dr. Abaraham for his investment in the education sector adding that education is the bedrock of development in every great society which should be given attention.
He charged the youths to avail themselves of this great opportunity as the University community was big enough to accommodate all of them.
The former State Accountant General, Sir Udo Isobara thanked Dr. Abraham for transforming Mkpatak community to what he termed the educational hub of the Nation and assured Mkpatak youths of his continuous cooperation and support.
The immediate past Chairman of Essien Udim, Elder Raphael Isobara, himself an indigene of Mkpatak and Secretary General Mkpatak Development Association said he was fulfilled that the dream of many years passed has been realized in his life time through the birth of Topfaith University, Mkpatak.
He urged the youths to protect the University jealously and also make themselves available as more developmental projects were being attracted to Mkpatak Community.
In his response, the Chairman Board of Governors, Topfaith University, Dr. Emmanuel Abraham saluted members of Mkpatak Youths Development Association for the honour done him and the show of solidarity.
He particularly thanked the Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Elder Prince Ukpong Akpabio, member representing Essien Udim State Constituency, Barrister Esseh Umoh, SA to Governor on Project Monitoring, Mr. Nsini Umamah and other dignitaries for coming out to celebrate with the youths on the federal Government approval of Topfaith University.
The highpoints of the event were; presentation of souvenirs to Dr. Abraham and inspection of the University facilities anchored by the Chairman Board of Trustee, Mkpatak Youth Development Association, Mr. Uduak Isobara.
