On the day of Ukraine’s independence, Boris Johnson paid President Zelenskyy a visit in Kyiv.
Despite reports that European support may “dry up” due to the cost of living crisis, Mr. Johnson, speaking alongside his Ukrainian counterpart, said that through continued military support, unity between Western countries was “growing”
As British households “should endure the cost of living crisis” to combat “the inevitable manipulation of energy prices” by Russia, Mr. Johnson said, “Ukrainians are paying in blood while people are paying their energy bills.”
The dependence on Russian gas is the fundamental issue, he continued, and although there are difficulties, they must be resolved.

Ukraine is as independent as it can be, according to President Zelenskyy, who also emphasized the importance of maintaining national cohesion.
The British Prime Minister was then honored with a plaque that President Zelensky unveiled on his brand-new “alley of courage” outside the Ukrainian parliament.
The couple then went for a stroll through Kiev’s center while under heavy security.
