Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka has broken his silence following the permanent revocation of his United States visa, a decision that has stirred global discussion and concern among Nigerians. In a media briefing at Freedom Park, Lagos, Wole Soyinka confirmed that the U.S. Consulate in Lagos issued him a letter dated October 23, 2025, officially withdrawing his visa privileges. The Consulate cited “additional information” that surfaced after the visa’s initial approval, though it provided no specific reason.
