Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria has instituted a football tournament known as “Pillar of Sports Under-15 Boys Soccer to be played among youth teams across the state. of Akwa Ibom
Accordingly, youth teams in all the local government areas of the state wishing to participate in the tournament are to register for the competition which is expected to kick-off off soon and will climax with the installation of a “Pillar of Sports”
The state Chairman of Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria, Evang. Uwem Ekoh, says International football scouts are expected to be on hand during the tournament to select outstanding players.

YSFON named the Provost, Federal School of Medical Laboratory Science, Jos, Plateau State, Dr. Nkereuwem Etukudoh as the first ever Akwa Ibom Pillar of Sports.
It explained that the choice of Dr. Nkereuwem Etukudoh was unanimously adopted by the executive of YSFON after studying the report submitted by the Selection/Screening Committee
YSFON thanked sports stakeholders including members of the Sports Writers Association, members of State Football Federation, Nigerian Referees Association, Nigerian Coaches Association, the All Stars, Grassroots Coaches Association, Grassroots Sports Federation among others for their nominations
