Akwa United Fc of Uyo is currently 20th on the Nigerian Football Premier League table after playing three matches winning none, drawing one, and losing two with only one point to their credit.
The team drew at home in Uyo in their second match of the season with a new entrant to the NFPL, Sporting Lagos and this has become a worry to the government following the huge amount of money spent and football fans
Uyo fans almost threw stones at the players as the team did not impress supporters, especially for not scoring any goal and for not winning at home.

The first game of United in Bayelsa ended 5-3 in favour of Bayelsa United and at the weekend in Aba, Akwa United suffered another defeat, 3-2 to a team that dealt a blow to them in pre season friendly, Enyimba of Aba.

When signing a contract to coach the team, Fatai Osho had said their pre-season match with Enyimba of Aba should not be used to judge their standard but the weekend’s match has already told the story.
